Gas Networks Ireland is delighted to announce its sponsorship of TV3’s much-loved show, The Restaurant, which will return to screens in 2017, for its 11th series.
Issued 16th December, 2016
Natural gas is the energy of choice for Ireland’s hotel and restaurant trade because of the flexibility it gives to chefs, allowing them to create the perfect dish. The hotel and restaurant trade, by its nature, is energy intensive. In addition to delivering better value for money, natural gas is the cleanest fossil fuel, making it the sustainable choice for the sector.
Denis O’Sullivan, Head of Commercial, Gas Networks Ireland: ‘Every day, Gas Networks Ireland delivers natural gas to 674,000 homes and businesses all around the country. Natural gas is a clean, dependable source of energy which drives Ireland’s economy. The hotel and restaurant sector is a major user of natural gas and a major contributor to the Irish economy through both domestic customers and tourists, and so, a partnership with TV3’s ‘The Restaurant’ is a natural fit for us. We are hoping for five star results all the way!’
The sponsorship was negotiated by The Story Lab Ireland on behalf of Gas Networks Ireland. Through the sponsorship, natural gas advocacy will be closely aligned to The Restaurant through product placement, digital and social activation, and exclusive access to the show and filming. The Story Lab will manage the full activation of Gas Networks Ireland’s sponsorship of The Restaurant throughout the duration of the series.
Commenting on the significance of the sponsorship for the new series, Sharon Ledwidge, Brand Partnerships Manager, Virgin Media Solutions, said: “TV3 is delighted to have Gas Networks Ireland on board as partner for such a key element of our 2017 schedule. The Restaurant is a perfect fit for Gas Networks Ireland as it will demonstrate the versatility and reliability of cooking with natural gas.”
The brand new series of The Restaurant goes into production this January and will air on TV3 in early 2017. The Restaurant returns this year to Marco Pierre White’s Courtyard Bar & Grill in Donnybrook, with the world-class chef joining the critics’ table alongside resident critic Tom Doorley and a guest critic each week. Voiced by well-known Newstalk presenter Sean Moncrieff, The Restaurant will see six celebrities become head chefs over six weeks.
