GNI (UK) Transportation Network Code

The GNI (UK) Transportation Network Code records certain rights and responsibilities of each of the parties involved in the transportation of natural gas through the GNI (UK)Transportation System.

Shippers intending to transport gas through the GNI (UK) Transportation System are required to accede to the GNI (UK) Transportation Network Code, which is approved by the Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation (NIAUR);

Shippers may accede to the GNI (UK) Transportation Network Code through an Accession Agreement

GNI (UK) Transportation Network Code: South-North Pipeline

As part of the South-North Pipeline is within the jurisdiction of the Republic of Ireland, Shippers intending to transport gas through Gormanston (i.e. through the South-North Entry Point or the South-North Virtual Exit Point) are required to hold a Gas Shipping Licence as issued by the Commission for Regulation of Utlities (CRU).The CRU has approved the GNI (UK) Transportation Network Code: South-North Pipeline which specifies the rights and obligations of GNI (UK), the CRU, and Shippers in relation to that portion of the South-North Pipeline within the jurisdiction of the Republic of Ireland;

Modifications to the GNI (UK) Transportation Network Code will be processed in accordance with the Code Modification Rules
