Natural Gas the solution to achieving an A-rated home

Gas Networks Ireland hosts seminar on how to comply with Part L building regulations using Natural Gas.

On Thursday the 22nd of September, Gas Networks Ireland hosted a seminar on complying with Part L building regulations using Natural Gas in combination with renewable technologies. The seminar explored how Natural Gas is used to achieve an A-rated home. Other important topics covered included associated installation and running costs, gas connections policy and existing Natural Gas infrastructure.

Guest speakers at the event included Bill Quigley, Director of NuTech Renewables Ltd, Gerhard Heyl, Business Development Manager, Green Energy Savings, Cormac McLoughlin, Regional Facilities Manager, Ervia and Ian Kilgallon, Business Development & Innovation Manager, Gas Networks Ireland, who discussed the development of the biomethane project in Ireland and its potential impact on the new housing market.

The seminar was held at the Gas Networks Ireland’s award-winning Networks Services Centre (NSC) in Finglas, Dublin 11. The NSC was the first office in Ireland to receive a ‘BREEAM Excellent’ rating for sustainability. Attendees at the seminar concluded the event with a tour of the Network Services Centre’s Solar Tower.
