Gas Networks Ireland is delighted to sponsor ‘The Road to 2050: The Future of Gas Infrastructure in Ireland’ conference, which will take place on Wednesday, 13thSeptember 2017 at the Grand Hotel in Malahide, County Dublin. Hosted by the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM), the one day conference forms part of their ‘Road to 2050’ series of conferences, looking at the role gas will play in the future energy mix of Ireland, from now to 2050 and beyond. Among the many themes explored are: the role low carbon gas will play in decarbonising the gas network; the practicalities of injecting low carbon gas into the national gas network; and the effects of gas quality on the supply chain.
Julie McGrath, CNG Commercial Engineer, Gas Networks Ireland will present at the conference to outline the development of Ireland’s national CNG refuelling network and Ian Kilgallon, Innovation and Business Development Manager, Gas Networks Ireland will discuss the integration of biomethane into Ireland’s national gas grid. Maurice Power, Gas Network Ireland’s Senior Planning Engineer will also deliver a presentation to attendees on the ten year outlook for gas in Ireland.
