Senior Hydrogen Engineer
Reporting to the Technical Manager – Hydrogen Programme, the Senior Hydrogen Engineer is responsible for supporting the demonstration of network readiness and the delivery of demonstration projects related to the hydrogen programme for Gas Networks Ireland. The position involves collaboration with other business units and external stakeholders to ensure all technical and safety considerations associated with hydrogen demonstration projects, both on and off the network, are identified, addressed, and delivered systematically.
The Senior Hydrogen Engineer will lead the hydrogen innovation research programme by managing projects, developing solutions, building business cases, collaborating with external partners and policymakers to advance hydrogen safety and provide supporting evidence. The jobholder will work closely with the Innovation Delivery Team to ensure a coordinated and effective use of resources through the Brownsbarn Network Innovation Centre. Due to this close working relationship with the Innovation Delivery Team and the Brownsbarn Network Innovation Centre, it is expected that the jobholder may need to work out of the Brownsbarn campus as required to facilitate aspects of project delivery.

Business Intelligence Analyst
The Data Competency Centre (DCC) delivers centralised ownership and oversight of activities which manage, measure and improve GNI’s data. The DCC advise on the governance, design and management of data and monitor resulting data quality. Within the DCC, GNI data management policy and procedure is created, data architecture is managed, and business intelligence initiatives are prioritised in line with enterprise wide needs. Reporting to the Business Intelligence Lead, the Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for the creation of on-demand enterprise reports to meet GNI business intelligence demands as well as supporting the delivery of key BI initiatives and reports to facilitate informed decision making and assist in the effective management of the business. The Business Intelligence Analyst is also responsible for the support of GNI business users in the use of SharePoint solutions within GNI through direct management, best practice methodologies and a supported superuser network.

Cyber Security - Security Operations Centre (SOC) Lead
Based in Cork or Dublin and reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, the SOC Lead is accountable for leading GNI’s internal Security Operations Centre, managing a team of security analysts, and ensuring operational excellence across detection and response platforms. This includes managing ticket workload, defining and refining SOC processes and procedures, and governing relationships with the external SOC managed service provider. The role drives performance across Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR (and its managed service), and Network Detection & Response (NDR), focusing on improving detection fidelity, reducing false positives, and achieving measurable improvements. In addition, the SOC Lead acts as CSIRT Lead during major incidents, coordinating P1/P2 incident response, ensuring adherence to the Incident Response Plan (IRP), managing communications, containment, eradication, and recovery activities, and leading post-incident reviews to embed lessons learned into continuous improvement.

Design Engineer – CNG & Biogas
The Asset Delivery function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the end to end planning, designing and delivery of GNI’s portfolio of asset development programmes. The Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning, to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations.
Reporting to the Senior Design Engineer (CNG & Biogas), the Design Engineer will have responsibility for the preliminary and detailed design of CNG/RNG automotive refuelling facilities and biogas and renewable gas connections, including oversight of outsourced engineering service providers. The Design Engineer will manage all aspects of the design and review design risks associated with outsourced engineering service providers, ensuring a high-quality design service is delivered to the Networks Business. The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively diagnose technical issues and have knowledge of gas related process design. The Design Engineer will work closely with other discipline Design Engineers, outsourced partners and the Technical Assurance function ensuring alignment of the Design Delivery process from end to end to meet overall project or programme timelines. Sustainability is a key feature to incorporate into the design process to deliver low carbon designs.
