Portfolio Programme Coordinator
The Portfolio Office function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for providing single oversight of the delivery of all capital and operational work within the organisation, enabling it to make key decisions that will optimise the overall delivery of GNI’s portfolio of work. The office provides support and oversight in the areas of Investment Planning and Governance, Integrated Delivery Planning and Portfolio Programme Management; whilst also acting as the gate keeper and critical interface between potential investment programmes and commercial opportunities; and the core departments responsible for the delivery, operation and maintenance of GNI’s assets. Reporting to the Portfolio Programme Manager, the Portfolio Programme Coordinator, will be responsible for overseeing and managing the governance process for capital expenditure approvals (Gate Submissions), including the development and maintenance of the Annual Gate Submission calendar and the preparation of Gate Submission papers for presentation to senior management and executive level governance committees - Sub-EAC, EAC and the GNI and GNI(UK) Boards. The Portfolio Programme Coordinator will work closely with Delivery Partners (Project Delivery and Network Operations) and Project/Programme Sponsors (Asset Strategy, Business Development, and Future Networks) to monitor and drive Gate Submission performance, and to ensure that the project/programme information provided by those stakeholders (documented in Programme Plans, Investment Plans and Business Cases), satisfies the requirements specified in the Portfolio Governance Checklists, for each Gate Submission.
Senior Quantity Surveyor
The Asset Delivery function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the end to end planning, designing and delivery of GNI’s portfolio of asset development programmes. Encompassing the three pillars of Project Delivery Management, Design Delivery and Project Services; the Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning, to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations. Reporting to the Project Services Manager, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will develop costs for price control and complex new connections, alterations, diversions and relocations across the network; inclusive of pricing for decarbonisation agenda. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will develop cost inputs to work packages and conduct a form of risk costing based on probability of factors, using Monte Carlo simulations to provide a cost range. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be required to review price control projects and conduct an assessment on costs to establish confidence factor on the costs. The successful candidate will be required to undertake market analysis to benchmark costs, review end to end project costings to inform future costings, review final accounts and support the Project Delivery Leads and Engineers throughout the end to end Project Delivery process.
Estimation Engineer
The Asset Delivery function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the end to end planning, designing and delivery of GNI’s portfolio of asset development programmes. Encompassing the three pillars of Project Delivery Management, Design Delivery and Project Services; the Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning, to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations. Reporting to the Estimation Manager, the Estimation Engineer is responsible for producing detailed designs and drawings, estimating the cost of projects, identifying work prerequisites including materials requirements, applying standardised design templates and developing bespoke design solutions for new designs where appropriate. The successful candidate will have: the ability to effectively diagnose technical issues and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams. The Estimation Engineer will also perform site visits as necessary.
