Sustainability Engineer

The Sustainability Engineer, reporting to the Sustainability Environmental Manager, will play a key role in realising this sustainability ambition across the organisation. The Sustainability Engineer will be responsible for advancing the environmental activities of our sustainability commitments. The Sustainability Engineer will also support GNI’s Environmental and Energy Management Systems. The Sustainability Engineer will be responsible for the identification, development and implementation of initiatives required to drive continuous improvement on all sustainability KPIs and to ensure compliance with all environmental and energy obligations.

Regulatory Affairs Analyst

The Regulation function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the delivery of Market Operations, Market Development, implementation of EU Energy Market Regulations and Directives and both EU and Irish policy initiatives, as well as the strategy to deal with ongoing Regulatory compliance.

Reporting to the Wholesale Market Manager, the Regulatory Analyst will co-ordinate interactions with all Regulatory Authorities and will ensure consultation responses and both internal and external regulatory reporting commitments are delivered. The ability to ensure professional response/interactions with Regulatory Authorities, in all relevant jurisdictions, and with other key stakeholders by building strategic relations will be a key success factor to the role, as will the ability to forge strategic relationships with internal stakeholders.

Field Operations Engineer C&I

The Network Operations within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for executing field work safely and efficiently in support of the construction, operation, maintenance and repair of network assets.

Reporting to the Senior Field Operations Engineer is responsible for delivery of the operational activities on the transmission and distribution networks within their region. The Field Operations Engineer C&I will have the following responsibilities;

Senior Project Delivery Engineer – TX Connections

The Asset Delivery function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the end to end planning, designing and delivery of GNI’s portfolio of asset development programmes. The Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning, to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations.

Reporting to the Project Delivery Lead (Tx Connections), the Senior Project Delivery Engineer will be responsible for the end to end planning and delivery of Tx New Connections projects issued to their respective workstream by the Portfolio Office. The Senior Project Delivery Engineer will work closely with key internal stakeholders across the Portfolio Office, Asset Management, TDTT, Design Delivery and Project Services teams; to lead and/or support the successful development and delivery of these projects from Gate 2 through to Gate 4.

Safety Systems Engineer

The Health and Safety team within Gas Networks Ireland provides safety support, advice, measurement and assurance to the business covering a diverse range of gas and non-gas related activities, including capital and operational projects and programmes.
Reporting to the Assets and Infrastructure Safety Lead, the Safety Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the Health and Safety components of the Integrated Management System (IMS) and monitoring compliance by Gas Networks Ireland and its contractors with both organisational and legal standards. Working collaboratively with other members of the Safety Team, the successful candidate will serve as the principal contact for daily support and the provision of Health and Safety information and advice to Assets and Infrastructure, Gas Networks Ireland and associated internal and external stakeholders. A proactive approach to Health and Safety is essential, with an emphasis on encouraging and coaching personnel throughout the organisation in promoting a positive safety culture. The role includes oversight of the regions of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man, and will require periodic travel.

Safety Culture Lead

The Health, Safety and Quality (HSQ) function in GNI is responsible for safety policy, quality assurance and Health and Safety compliance across all areas of the business.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Safety Culture Lead will be responsible for the management of the Work Safe Home Safe Strategy and Programme. They will foster and further develop and sustain a proactive safety culture across Gas Networks Ireland. The Safety Culture Lead will promote best practice, lead cultural change initiatives, and collaborate with all levels of Gas Networks Ireland to ensure that safety is embedded in every aspect of the organisation’s activities.
This role requires an active leader who can influence and engage stakeholders at all levels to prioritise a positive safety culture, ensuring safety first in everything we do.

Assets & Infrastructure Safety Lead

The Health, Safety and Quality (HSQ) function in Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for safety policy, quality assurance and Health and Safety compliance across all areas of the business.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Assets and Infrastructure Safety Lead is responsible for the management of health and safety strategies, policies, and procedures across the Assets and Infrastructure pillar. Managing a team of Safety Systems Engineers, they will provide strategic assurance that statutory health and safety requirements are met, while coordinating support mechanisms across the lifecycle of Assets and Infrastructure projects and programmes with a risk-based approach, ensuring alignment with legal and industry standards while promoting continuous improvement and safety excellence.

The Assets and Infrastructure Safety Lead will support the Portfolio, Asset Management, Strategic Network Planning, and Asset Delivery functions in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man and is tasked with overseeing safety governance, compliance, and performance to support Gas Networks Ireland’s strategic goals and legal requirements.

Asset Register Analyst

Reporting to the Asset Register Manager the Asset Register Analyst will have responsibility for safeguarding capital projects quality, progression through to closure and the asset register process adherence in Maximo.

The Asset Register Team within Business Services is responsible for ensuring all requirements to enable field work progression on the natural gas network are fulfilled throughout the lifecycle of the work and ensuring that the Maximo asset register is updated accordingly. We have responsibility for ensuring a high-quality standard to all processes in accordance with the governance measures established by the Data Operations group while operating as a Maximo Super User / Subject Matter expert and leveraging extensive system knowledge to provide high level support to the business daily.

Security Operations Support Administrator

The IT team within Gas Networks Ireland is an integral part of the business providing operational, and customer-focused IT services. These services include solution delivery, service management, and infrastructure & operations management. These services are provided through a combination of inhouse resources and external service providers.
Reporting to the SOC Lead, the Security Operations Support Administrator will play an essential role within the Security Operations Center (SOC) team by assisting with the monitoring and analysis of security systems, incident response, and threat management.

The role involves working closely with senior analysts and other IT staff to ensure the security of GNI’s information and operational systems. This position offers opportunities for career growth and advancement within the cybersecurity field.

Design Engineer – CNG & Biogas

The Asset Delivery function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the end to end planning, designing and delivery of GNI’s portfolio of asset development programmes. The Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning, to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations.

Reporting to the Senior Design Engineer (CNG & Biogas), the Design Engineer will have responsibility for the preliminary and detailed design of CNG/RNG automotive refuelling facilities and biogas and renewable gas connections, including oversight of outsourced engineering service providers. The Design Engineer will manage all aspects of the design and review design risks associated with outsourced engineering service providers, ensuring a high-quality design service is delivered to the Networks Business. The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively diagnose technical issues and have knowledge of gas related process design. The Design Engineer will work closely with other discipline Design Engineers, outsourced partners and the Technical Assurance function ensuring alignment of the Design Delivery process from end to end to meet overall project or programme timelines. Sustainability is a key feature to incorporate into the design process to deliver low carbon designs.
