Construction Engineer – Southern Region
The Asset Delivery function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for the end to end planning, designing and delivery of GNI’s portfolio of asset development programmes. The Asset Delivery function brings together all the technical and project support capabilities needed to take high-level projects and programmes from the Portfolio Office and translate these through from detailed design and project planning, to construction delivery and handover to Asset Operations.
Reporting to the Senior Project Delivery Engineer (NSWC / DX Pipelines), the Construction Engineer (NSWC / DX Pipelines) will be responsible for overseeing the construction delivery elements of specific NSWC and DX pipeline projects issued to Asset Delivery by the Portfolio Office. Acting as the primary point of contact for escalations at Gate 3 relating to such work within his/her region.
The Construction Engineer will act as a point of consultation for internal stakeholders across the Connections Coordination, Design Delivery and Project Services teams; to assist with the successful development and delivery of projects.
The Construction Engineer within asset delivery is responsible for overseeing the onsite execution of works. -
Commercial Manager
The Portfolio Office function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for the delivery of all capital and operational work within the organisation, enabling it to make key decisions that will optimise the overall delivery of GNI’s portfolio of work. The portfolio office provides support and oversight in the areas of Portfolio Planning and Governance, Assurance and Programme Management, Delivery Enablement, Connections Coordination, Land Management and Statutory Consents, and Commercial Management; whilst also acting as the gate keeper and critical interface between potential investment programmes and commercial opportunities; and the core departments responsible for the delivery, operation and maintenance of GNI’s assets.
Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Office, the Commercial Manager will be accountable for the commercial strategy and management of all aspects of the capital investment portfolio, for ensuring appropriate frameworks and contracts are in place to support the delivery of the approved investment plan, for monitoring performance of the frameworks, ensuring value for money is obtained and appropriate estimates are in place across the investment plan, assuring commercial compliance and ensuring appropriate commercial behaviours exist with the supply chain partners.
This senior role demands a strategic and hands on leader with deep knowledge and experience of commercial strategies, estimation, framework/contract management, commercial management, cost control and supply chain relationship management. -
Delivery Enablement and Statutory Processes Manager
The Portfolio Office function within Gas Networks Ireland is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for the delivery of all capital and operational work within the organisation, enabling it to make key decisions that will optimise the overall delivery of GNI’s portfolio of work. The portfolio office provides support and oversight in the areas of Portfolio Planning and Governance, Assurance and Programme Management, Connections Coordination, Delivery Enablement, Land Management and Statutory Consents, and Commercial Management; whilst also acting as the gate keeper and critical interface between potential investment programmes and commercial opportunities; and the core departments responsible for the delivery, operation and maintenance of GNI’s assets.
Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Office, the Delivery Enablement and Statutory Processes Manager will be accountable for ensuring strategic and structured ways of working, solutions, SOPs, etc. are defined and implemented to enable an efficient and successful delivery of the investment plan. This role will also include the oversight and management of key teams responsible for land, wayleaves, road opening licenses, statutory planning, etc. for GNI. This role will lead a team which will proactively anticipate and support portfolio requirements at all stages from strategic planning, through delivery and handover, develop processes and procedures to facilitate same, e.g. statutory consents processes, project and programme management capabilities, estimation and risk management, etc. The role and the team will be critical in ensuring continuous improvement and lessons learned are addressed on an ongoing basis, in order to ensure a highly efficient and effective delivery of GNI’s portfolio of work.
The Manager will ensure processes and ways of working are aligned across GNI and to the satisfaction of key external stakeholders such as the Commission for Regulation of Utilities. They will also act as the principal escalation point in addressing and resolving key statutory process disputes with stakeholders, including handling complex landowner negotiations and arbitrations, ensuring positive outcomes and maintaining constructive relationships.
Ultimately, the Delivery Enablement and Statutory Processes Manager will provide critical oversight and assurance, contributing directly to the successful and compliant delivery of infrastructure projects and long-term operational excellence. -
Meta-Data and Records Administrator

Reporting to the Project Information Lead, the Meta-Data & Records Administrator will be responsible for the day to day activities associated with the materials incoming inspection process as well as supporting the project information team. -
Resilience & Continuity Lead
The Change and Continuous Improvement (CI) team within GNI Business Services, is responsible for driving and supporting business change, process management and continuous improvement across the organisation.
We are seeking an experienced and strategically minded professional to join our Business Process Team as a Resilience and Continuity Lead. This role is critical to supporting GNI’s delivery of business continuity responsibilities under the Critical Entities Resilience Directive ensuring that the organisation can prevent, respond to and recover from operational disruptions, including cyber incidents and critical infrastructure threats. This role is also key in supporting compliance with NIS2 Directive, ensuring robust management of risks to our critical processes, and business continuity across GNI. Reporting to the Business Process Manager, the successful candidate will support the development and maintenance of business continuity plans and coordination of a number of continuity exercises as well as being involved in resilience planning activities, incident management, and crises exercises*
